The X52W-AL is an experimental wall climber, discontinued before it could be prepared for active duty. The idea was that the X52W would launch two grappling hooks to the top of a wall and pull itself towards the wall and then scale the wall, breaching that defense. However, its operators found that its motors and wheels, which had enhanced grip to mount on vertical surfaces, were strong enough to pull down the ramparts where the hooks attached. Due to bureaucracy this clearly useful offensive feature caused the project, which was meant for first strike and recon purposes, to be shelved until further notice.
